Notebook of the future !
Ever imagined what your laptop would look like without that bulky keyboard and mousepad ? Would look a heck of a lot cooler if it were replaced by a 2nd LCD to form one continuous screen. It would, gauging from these pictures, appear to be, 2 iPhones joined by a hinge. Pretty cool huh ? Here are some fascinating pics of the OLPC 2.0 which I managed to dig up from Google, that show what such a mean machine this would look like.

Wondering whose novel idea this was? NO it wasn’t Microsoft, nor was it the usual suspect, Apple, that uber-god of all computing machines. No, its the brainchild of Nicholas Negroponte, founder and pioneer of the OLPC (One laptop per child) project, a smashing worldwide success by all accounts. Why is it that none of the big players in the notebook market never envisioned a product of this sort? The demo on Youtube (below) shows how this can be used in any form or shape, from a regular notebook, to a shared PC, to an interactive tool, to a shared game for kids, to a perfectly suited learning instrument for children in schools. Some of the images show how this device can be held almost like a regular book, to read eBooks, draw and interactively learn.
Now that this idea is out there, any guesses on who would be the 1st to market these commercially ? My bet, as always is on Apple. Keep watching this space !!
